Quiet paths & deeper discovery

A quieter beginning. An extraordinary way.

Start beside the Roman bridge in Chaves and follow an inland journey into Galicia. Through Verín and Laza, the route connects with the Sanabrés / Vía de la Plata network before continuing through Ourense towards Santiago.

Expect changing landscapes, rural villages and a more secluded feeling along the way. This is a rewarding choice for riders who enjoy the hills and want to discover a different side of the Camino, with a schedule shaped to their pace.

  • Chaves, its Roman bridge and the landscapes of the Tâmega valley
  • The cross-border journey towards Verín and the rural approach to Laza
  • The historic city of Ourense and the countryside of inland Galicia
  • A quieter route that meets Santiago’s remarkable pilgrim story

Approx. 230 km. Indicative cycling route; the exact distance and daily stages are confirmed in your personal proposal.

Good to know

A few details
before you go.

The riding

Quiet roads and rural tracks with more sustained climbing. Mountain sections make this the more demanding of our suggested journeys; the included e-bike assistance and optional extra days can help shape the experience.

Who it suits

For confident cyclists looking for a more rural Camino, distinctive scenery and a quieter start.

Your dates

Private departures are planned around your dates and availability. Spring and autumn are worth discussing for a more temperate riding experience.

Getting there & away

Start in Chaves and finish in Santiago de Compostela. The return transfer from Santiago to Porto is included on day 8. Ask us about arrival connections or extra nights.
